They know we’re stupid and have endless patience. Otherwise, how could the pathetic likes of Boehner and McConnell even have a job, much less be leaders of the party? The fact that these clowns are allowed to run the show is astonishing. They’re not fit, nor could they be trusted, to run a lemonade stand.

The “leadership” layer below them is also incompetent and corrupt. But the GOP base seems to be OK with perpetuating this monumental and persistent failure to produce anything in return for its votes. Its really an amazingly absurd cycle. One can only conclude that stupidity and endless patience are pervasive within the party.

” In Washington there’s a term that describe what happens to newly elected, idealistic politicians: Potomac Fever. Once they get to DC they quickly learn to adhere to the old adage “to get along, go along”. They take up residence and get used to the perks of office, publicity and power. The soon become creatures of the system and forget all about those “hicks” back home that voted them into office. The transformation is complete, in short order.”

Best argument for term limits I ever read.

Ignoring literal interpretation is how extremists expand government. If they had an appreciation for literalism, they’d read the 10th amendment and rollback all of their “progress.”

Expecting the USSC to render a decision that adheres to the underlying principles in the Constitution is probably asking for too much. It is a political, not a judicial, body in reality.

I hope and wait for the pendulum to swing the other way. Your entire post #2 is a very clear and apt description of what is occurring and we are currently enduring.

Yahoo has already ran an article on Obama serving three terms.

The Left is trying to put barriers in front of the pendulum to stop it from swinging.

I’m not big on conspiracy theories, but watching Roberts change in mid-course on Obamacare was eye-opening.

If the ACA was to be overturned, why would there be a need to have a bill returning it to where it was? It will automatically be where it was.

The Republicans in congress will probably try to help him.

"It is what the GOP congress cannot bring itself to repeal:"

There have been repeated votes to repeal, but a repeal requires Obama's signature. Don't think that's going to happen.

"Nothing to worry about. Roberts rewrote it once to save it; no reason why he wouldn’t do it again. Right? Otherwise, the Court might be viewed as political, right, Johnny Boy?"

Roberts decided that a tax collected along with other taxes, but that is waived if you have health insurance, should be considered a tax. Since there are many other taxes and exemptions handled exactly the same way it's hard to see how he was twisting anything.

When this new case comes up it's an entirely different question and the twisting has to be done in order to uphold Obamacare. I expect Roberts to strike with a majority of the court agreeing.

Those phony repeal votes are nothing but theatrics to reassure
its base and keep the donations coming from the rank and file. For the GOP, Obamacare is the gift that keeps on giving. Why kill the goose that laid the golden egg?

The GOP congress has not sent a bill, standalone or part of another larger bill, to repeal Obamacare to El Presidente. Nor have they sent an appropriation which defunds it.

Many are violating their oath of office from 0 on down or up. If their belief and faith in God is just as shaky their souls are in jeopardy and they have earned the trip. I would not want to be 0 when he has to answer for his proclamation that Christ is his God and Savior.

“It must be very tempting to man like him to think he could simply declare himself Emperor for Life.

Especially when he knows the US Congress or Courts would not stop him.”

However, I think both the military and the US gun owners (100 million of them) would stop him.
