Bathroom bill clears Senate hurdle
Senate Bill 76, sponsored by Sen. C. B. Embrey, R-Morgantown, passed the Senate Friday with a 27 to 9 vote.
The bill would require students to use the bathroom of the sex that they were born.
Democratic opponents of the bill felt that the decision of what restroom a transgender child should use should be made at the local school level.
I dont see anything wrong with letting our local school boards run their own school systems, said Sen. Julian Carroll, D-Frankfort.
Sen. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville, is fearful that the state is taking way the local school districts ability to run their own schools.
We are removing the capability of local schools doing what they believe is best for their students, McGarvey said.
Proponents of the bill say its about protecting the rights of all students.
It is not the responsibility of this body to protect the rights of one particular group, said Sen. Danny Carroll, R-Paducah. Its the responsibility of this body to protect the rights of all.

Except when it comes to Common Core.
On to bestiality, incest, necrophilia...
Sure, let's make that decision at the "school level". Every other decision, though -- better let obama and holder and Michelle make those.
Wonder which bathroom Jule ‘n Carroll use anyway?
The federal government has neither authority nor need to be virtually “running” America’s El-Hi schools. But the barrier was removed by Pres. Jimmuh Cahtuh’s political payoff to the Nat’l Education (?) Association (aka teachers’ union), a sop to said labor union creating the U. S. Dept. of Education as a playground for federal gov’t. and labor union meddling, usurping and neutering local control.
Yet the RATS couldn't do that with Husseincare?
That's not true. The local school district is afraid of lawsuits an will go the path of least resistance. Democrats will threaten lawsuits to get their way. They are like the BORG. Resistance is Futile.
If you heard the story about the girl and her biological father and New Jersey, you would know that incest among adults is already at least been seen as okay in one case.
