Rush doesn't pick'em in the primary season. He leans a lot but never "endorses" one candidate in the pubbie primary.
Many people claim he leans too much, but in 27 {almost} years of listening, I never remember Rush naming a specific candidate during the primary season as his recommended choice.
If I'm wrong, I'll gladly apologize to all.

The article infers that Rush is officially backing Walker. Rush has stated that he has not endorsed any candidate.
Rush may eventually endorse Cruz if Ted gets the nomination - because Ted is a true Conservative. I think Rush would endorse several of the current candidates as well. After all, it looks as though the Democrats are planning to run Hillary Clinton in 2016.
I think Rush would endorse any Republican running against Hillary - but unless the GOP runs a Conservative - his endorsement may be tepid.
Rush is best friends with Karl Rove. He said so on his show. I lost any remaining respect I had for Rush at that point.
