Shunning is bullying and abusive and teachers who use it ought to be fired.

My son was made to sit in the hall and when he tried to look in, the stupid imbecile “teacher” taped paper over the glass. I resent her and depise the public school system. The teachers and the parents act like highschoolers themselves. The administrators hate kids and are just there to collect their piece of the government dole.

Ffs, when I was at school the teachers do that when we misbehaved. They had to do something when they abolished corporal punishment. Parents who think their kids are precious, sensitive little poppets who are beyond being punished for acting out of line are part of the reason society is going down the pan.

I a 5th grade teacher who didn’t really like boys. Of course, I loved it because I hated goofy, obnoxious boys at that age. Our neighbor told my mom that her son went almost the whole year with out a desk or shoelaces because both were constantly being taken away for leaning back in his chair or having his shoelaces untied.

One of her own sons didn’t even go to her funeral, he said she always hated boys.

Humiliation is not a way to handle little kids.

They do that because the kid in the hall stares in at the other kids, makes faces, and distracts them. If a kid is being really disruptive, a little time out in the hall is sometimes necessary.

and of course your child was innocent of all wrong.

Give me a break. Teacher’s are placed in a straight jacket when it comes to maintaining any level of discipline in the class and parents like you are more concerned about your little baby getting singled out for bad behaviour than working to correct the source of that bad behaviour.

Perhaps parents like you should be made to suffer the discipline and then maybe you would care enough to help make our schools a better environment.

Being “shunned” for one lunch hour is no big deal.

It’s known as life.
