Seriously, this is an outrage?

this is why kids have social behavior issues now. I know, like everyone else, it can sometimes be difficult to watch, but this is just a kid being taught one of lifes lessons. Even if it isn't his fault for being late, he now knows excuses don't matter, plan ahead and make sure you are on time. He obviously isn't learning it from his guardians. He needs to view his "parent" and incompetent because they are... they can't even get him to school on time. Broken car or not, find a way. Your variables aren't everyone elses problem. Heck, my kid had to spend lunch recess doing dishes in the school kitchen for a week one time for speaking out of turn. Guess what? It worked. He keeps his mouth shut in class now.

My kids know... unless your teacher hits you, don't come home whining. School is their domain, their rules. It's their job to find a way to work within it like everyone else. Life is full of CEO's, police, peers, etc who don't see life they way you do and you have to learn to cope with it in a non-destructive manner. My dad said it just like everyone elses: pick you battles carefully and be willing to see them through to the end. This simply isn't one of them

That was something YOUR KID did.

He drives the car? He maintains the car?

The "life lesson" this kid is learning is that you will get the shaft for what other people do, no matter how hard you try.

Great lesson.

The cheerleaders for this kid's punishment here make me sick.
