Just as a matter of good English, let's get rid of the phrase "advocate for (something)." You can advocate (verb) something, or you can be an advocate (noun) for something (or someone), but "I advocate for something" is a grammatical impossibility. It doesn't surprise me that this ungrammatical phrase is used only by the Left.
