Well, I think Boehner is as ineffectual as the next guy, but this entire debacle is entirely Mitch McConnell's fault. The House voted correctly to begin with, but once McConnell refused the nuke option and allowed the Democrats to deny a conference, there was virtually nothing the House could do. Once that happened, under the rules the Dems could bring the vote to the floor with only a few dozen RINO votes to pass it.

This is all on the Senate.

I think these two are mutually at fault across the board. No backbone whatsoever. None. If the House wanted to stand strong, they would challenge the House. Instead, one goes along with the other every time to meet any White House demand.

Either idiot could have stood firm. In fact they could have defeloped together Plan A, B, C, D, etc. that would have eventually won (even if it was 2 years of DHS "shutdown").

But no, they went Stalagmite.

"This is all on the Senate."

I knew Boehner and McConnell would stab us in the back, but their have been 3 totally unconstitutional acts by Obama, Amnesty, The AR rounds and Net Neutrality and as Tony Soprano might say we get ohgots out of our 2 meat-heads, they haven't done **** about any of them.

They took the power of the purse and impeachment off the table and we are sitting here watching Rome metaphorically burn.

Don't just replace Boenher, we have to replace Mitch as well...

“This is all on the Senate. “
Nope.
That’s a fantasy the GOPe put out to hide behind.

The House could have voted down the DHS today. Boehner could have used Party discipline to force his members not to agree to the Senate bill.
THEN the bill would be dead if Reid didn’t allow a vote on going to conference- and the fault would be in the Senate.

> “This is all on the Senate.”

Sorry, not true.

As Senator Cruz told stated, the truth is that the ***GOP Leadership*** comprising Senate and House designed this failure from the start bu attaching the defunding of Executive Amnesty to a bill funding the DHS rather than a bill funding the EPA.

If today the debate was about defunding the EPA, there would be hardly any resistance to delay.

John Boehner crammed through the CRomnibus last November with more than 1600 pages of crony pork giving members only 2 days to review IN A LAME-DUCK SESSION!

There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for what Boehner did. But it is known why he did it. He wanted to pay off his backers before the New Congress was seated because for sure such CRomnibus would never have seen the light of day.

John Boehner is complicit up to his eyeballs in the sellout.

Fred, in your opinion, how would things have gone down if Boner had forced the dems to call the vote and then holler to high heaven for his caucus to vote NO!?!
