Carson was close with the prison analogy, but it came out all wrong.
Straight men don’t come out of prison homosexual. They engage in homsexual activity in spite of being hetero, while they’re in prison. It’s a clear case of straight men choosing homosexual sodomy, which is entirely relevant in a nature-vs-nurture debate.
Once you factually establish that men attracted to women do have sex with men, by choice, under certain conditions, you move on to other conditions where straight men might do the same... and the Born This Way lie begins to unravel.
When they insist that sexual attraction is genetic and predetermined, ask them if that applies to those who are attracted to children as well (and be prepared to calmly defend yourself against charges of comparing homosexuals to pedophiles).
Only problem is this: we can’t test who is genuinely homosexual and who isn’t. Anyone who knew Bill De Blassio’s wife as a lesbian had no way of predicting she would end up with Bill, they can claim it after the fact, but that doesn’t count.
Well, the pattern is well established that one argues that people are not responsible for their actions. People excused incest between an 18-year old and her biological father, people say that teens in general are programmed into sexual behavior, so don’t bother to try teaching them otherwise. It goes on and on. The whole blaming your behavior on something other than your own choices is common, and it’s rediculous.
Does genetics program homosexuals into promiscuity? Does it program them to use narcotics? It’s a bunch of dehumanizing BS that a lot of people somehow don’t think about how bad it sounds to say that you aren’t responsible or in charge of your life. Years ago, people despised slavery with a passion. Nowadays, people brag about being enslaved or having no responsibility for their own actions.
