But it was Archbishop Blase Cupich who delivered the most forceful remarks, saying that if lawmakers disagree with Democratic President Barack Obama's executive actions to prevent deportation of those who are here illegally, "then Congress should supersede them by passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation."
"Trying to block the president's executive order ... is not a serious proposal, nor an adult way to deal with this issue," said Cupich, who has made the issue a focus in his first months on the job in Chicago.

STUPIDITY
The archbishop must have some other definition for "adult".
Thank you Pope Francis for the leftist Bishop you’ve saddled Chicago with for the next 2 decades. As if Chicago needs anymore leftist influence.
When can we start this auction?
“Archbishop Blase Cupich ... saying that if lawmakers disagree with Democratic President Barack Obama’s executive actions to prevent deportation of those who are here illegally, ‘then Congress should supersede them by passing comprehensive immigration reform legislation.’”
How about this for comprehensive, Pal—catapult them all back to Mexico, with a free ticket for you to accompany them if you like.
His religious principles and mission are not proven by the selfish retention of his own luxuries and privileges - while forcing everyday Americans to bear the burden of his open-borders "magnanimity:" i.e. destruction of their good paying jobs and their good neighborhoods.
You'll be very pleased to see that my STATE political leaders are once again "standing up to the federal levinian", "taking matters into their own hands when the feds won't act" and ensuring they "have an agency in crafting legislation". Ain't it WONDERFUL that my state government is reclaiming their powers? Obama's pals in the Illinois legislature were MORE than happy to vote in favor of an "Article V convention" too, so they can have even MORE say when it comes to doing things that the Republican-controlled congress on the federal level ignored or simply doesn't approve of. (in this case, amnesty for illegals)
As I've said many times, 17th amendment or not, my state politicians have NEVER been shy into their sticking their nose into ALL KINDS of national issues and blatantly thumbing their nose at federal authorities when necessary to get what they want. And despite what the anti-17thers constantly insist, the federal government never tries to stop them, either.
Someone page Mark Levin on this. A state is finally doing what he has repeated called on them to do. If only the REST of the states would constantly bully federal officials and tell the feds what to do, as Illinois politicians routinely do.
Perhaps some of the frogs are beginning to jump out of the pot.
My mom calls him “Soupy”. He’s a pig, cut from the same cloth as Antipope Francis.
True, he was a horrible pick, but I could also say the same when the IL GOP establishment and the self-appointed "Tea Party" leaders (who supposedly "oppose" the establishment) BOTH decided to endorse RINO Rahm Emanuel pal Bruce Rauner and saddle us with him for the next four years.
More like sliding down to the controls and turning up the heat on the knob. The federal government isn't pro-illegal ENOUGH for their tastes.
Every time Obama violates the law, he gets cheers from several Catholic bishops—because they like the far-Left results.
It’s perfectly clear that Obama’s violating the law and his oath of office doesn’t bother them in the least.
This has happened over and over again.
