"..Bush and Walker
(Excerpt) Read more at washingtonpost.com ...
Now watch Walker's appearance at the CSM breakfast mentioned in today's WaPo article above.
June 14, 2012 - C-SPAN: Walker at Christian Science Breakfast **** CSM's opening question to Walker about Bush's hit on the conservative wing of the GOP @ 6:23 Mark.
Walker said Bush is a friend - then aims his remarks at "Romney and others in the party".......Referendum on Carter.....Candidate Reagan's question - 'Are we better off today than we were four years ago?' - Reagan's Vision: limited government, lower taxes, strong defense;...... referendum on current president and a vision, tell Romney and others in the party why you need somebody new..... you need a vision and a message;
Q: you said to the Chamber of Commerce that it's a false choice between cutting taxes and cutting services - that it's not spending more money but spending it more wisely [Then comes Walker's reply - this is a good section as he described what they're doing in WI - his detail and delivery shows he's an executive who knows how it's done].
Next question - in his answer he goes after Romney and contrasts wings of the party. This is all interesting - so refreshing to hear.... private sector growth, government frugality...
16:00 now talking about workers and their complaints to him about unions.
Q: about Gov. Scott (FL) voter ID and the situation in WI [WI Voter ID passed and court blocked it but is still working through the courts and should be upheld]
I'm still listening to the exchange and will post this now [full Q &A is 58:00 in length].
He's giving them an earful. Walker knows how to stay on message and get his points across.
Jeb and Hillary [anyone] will have great difficulty debating this guy.
A preemptive post:
Let the market decide.
...Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said he would continue the subsidies for now but phase them out once ethanol producers are assured access to markets. I think eventually you can get to that, he said. But you cant get to that unless you deal with market access....
...Saturdays forum also was an opportunity for likely contenders to display knowledge of rural issues and connect with Iowas farmers. Walker waxed nostalgic about growing up as the son of a Baptist preacher in the small Iowa town of Plainfield, where he said he learned that farming isnt just a business, its a way of life.....
I support biofuels and ethanol. ... I also dont think Washington should be picking winners and losers, Cruz said. ...
Walker said that he favored drawing down federal tax credits for wind power over time and opposed mandatory labeling of foods made from genetically modified crops. This is one of those where I believe its served its purpose, Walker said of the credits. I would support phasing that out over a period of time.

..... Together we stand .... Divided we fall ......
.... In this nation at this present time .... We Are Falling.
Who were the “frontrunners” in March of 2007 and March of 2011? I rest my case.
You know darn good and well that Jeb Bush and the Bush Machine are working 24/7 behind the scenes to weaken Walker, while saying things like you just did. In fact they quote Jeb saying almost the same thing, Im not going to tear down my fellow Republicans that doesnt help, - so that he can look “presidential.”
What WE need to recognize are tactics [listed below] used by our ideological foes on conservative forums. They pick our candidates off one by one until the GOP-e candidate gobbbles up enough states [those open primaries, that the GOPe favors, hurt conservatives and we need to fight early and often].
Saul Alinskys Rules for Radicals
1. Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have. Power is derived from 2 main sources money and people. Have-Nots must build power from flesh and blood.
2. Never go outside the expertise of your people. It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
3. Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
4. Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
5. Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. There is no defense. Its irrational. Its infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
6. A good tactic is one your people enjoy. Theyll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. Theyre doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
7. A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. Dont become old news.
8. Keep the pressure on. Never let up. Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
9. The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself. Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
10. If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive. Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
11. The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Never let the enemy score points because youre caught without a solution to the problem.
12. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions
And who won in 2008 and 2012?
I rest my case.
I rest my case....
:-)
Did Walker ever figure out which side of immigration reform, amnesty and the border he’s on?
He’s poll and focus group testing it as we speak, I’m sure.
I just love how the leftist/communist rags like WaPo try to tell us who our front runners are. /sarc
Oh, thank you, Washington Post, for telling us simpletons who we are supposed to vote for.
Giuliani was comfortably ahead of the polls in February 2007. He ended up not winning even a single state primary.
I like Walker's resume, a lot. But let's face it. They CAN'T all work together. There's the guys that do the establishment status quo's work and there's those that are true constitutional conservatives who want to try to save the US. It's absurd that we're even in the same political party after the past few years and the open warfare against conservatives and Constitutional values.
The snippet above is misleading.
Jeb is the media’s pick, not the people’s.
Reading the article, O’Keefe and Costa seem to be well on the side of Bush as the repubs and the demodummie medias nomination. I challenge anyone to dispute that.
When Walker changes his mind about issues, it would seem to me he is paying closer attention to those issues he initially supported. How many of you, who thought something was a good idea at first blush, eventually changed your minds once you got the full story? Happens all the time.
You’re right.
Jeb is the MSM’s and the GOPe’s pick.
There is no way on God’s green earth that Jeb Bush could fairly be described as a “front runner”.
Neither of which is true.
Stadium funding puts no burden on the taxpayer. The jock tax pays for the bonds. If they try to move the team, the owners must pay the bonds off first. It is part of the contract.
Walker supports phasing out ethanol subsidies while opening the markets to ethanol producers. You see, ethanol producers cannot sell their product into the fuels market legally. The EPA program is the only vehicle for ethanol sales as fuels. Walker's plan is to allow ethanol producers to sell into the market as the subsidies get phased out. This is a great compromise that will ensure it gets enough votes in Congress. It is thoughtful, creative legislation rather than a hammer. It demonstrates Walker's ability to enact conservatism and capitalism while gaining support politically for conservatism and capitalism.
