I watch a lot of Netflix. TV rarely.
Only "TV" I watch is via a USB tuner connected to my notebook and an outdoor (old VHF-UHF) antenna. Lots of local broadcast stations for free, and the tuner includes DVR software, all in HD if broadcast that way.
Recorded content can be played back on your TV thru ROKU or other appliance with free PLEX software, easy to set up.

I had an old Roku and just bought one more up to date.
ROKU/PLEX is a great combination.
The problem is Fox news. If streaming Fox news were available I would chuck cable

For several years, I have been collecting TV programs that interest me. I have around 3,000 episodes. I have them on a NAS (wifi) USB 3 Tb hard drive. That way, I can access them on my computers (laptop & desktop) and on my LCD TV via ROKU/Plex or WD TV/Plex/Servers.
Technology is finally getting to the point that computers can talk to TVs.
