When the U.S. helped to oust Libya's dictator from power, supporters of the intervention included Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Nancy Pelosi, Marco Rubio, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Mark Kirk, Charles Krauthammer and Bill Kristol. In advance of Election 2016, when some of these people try to influence public debate and others vie to become president of the United States, let us continue to monitor the outcome of the war that they supported.

Rubio is a war monger. If he had his way we would be at war with Iran, Russia, Venezueala, North Korea and China.

The Dauphin Bush has brought all the idiots, expecially Paul Wolfowitz, who decided we needed to invade Iraq make the Arab world sage for democracy and butchered the war in Afghanistan.

The war in Afghanistan and Iraq was necessary, and was successfully drawing tens of thousands of alQueda scum from all over the world to the area. Once there, the U.S. Military took care of them. AlQueda was decimated and on the run. All Obama had to do was commit to maintenance of it. He did not. Now we got big problems.

I’ve always thought that the ousting of Quadaffi was a mistake on many levels. But cited article accuses Rubio of supporting the Iraq war - he was in his second term in the Florida House of Representatives when that invasion was made - hardly a significant figure then.

I’d take this article with a grain of salt.

You left out that part about the Iraq civil war.

Bush put maliki on the throne, but when they had the election, the Sunni boycotted the election and began a civil war.

Bush then expanded the number of troops in Iraq and entered the civil war on the side of the Shia to put down the Sunni. General Petraeus killed a lot of them but many fled to Syria where the would start a civil war against the shia govt there.

After the uprising was over, Maliki swore to Bush that he would share power and the oil revenue with the Sunni and the Kurds, and he did for a while, but he eventually started purging and cut off the money.

Which enabled ISIS to enter Iraq with the support of the Iraq sunni

But everything is OK now(wink, wink), because Maliki was forced out and replaced with a power and oil money sharing central govt in which the shia have the prime minister and interior minister, the sunni have the defense minister, and the Kurds have the lesser ministers.

One can argue given Rubio’s rhetoric he has not learned a thing or even re-though his views on the US using military solutions in that region and others.
