So true. I worked on Scott’s 2014 re-election campaign and spent election day in a war room down in Bonita Springs. There were very few volunteers, and tons of paid staff on the campaign. In a room next to the war room full of lawyers was a room full of campaign analysts and consultants looking at precinct counts and turnout projections. They were palpably nervous throughout the day, but in the end Scott took it by 70,000 votes out of 5.6M cast. He spent a ton of money, and it was still that close. So, Florida is a true coin toss state.
