The costs of providing health insurance are staggering under the ACA: Small businesses, which are the least able to handle cost increases, report paying an average of $11,868 more per employee per year since the ACAs passage. Large companies have also seen their costs increase. As a result, some of them have cut employee hours to avoid triggering the coverage requirement altogether.
Nor is this only happening in the private sector. Public school systems from coast to coast have been effected. K-12 districts have limited hours for their support staff, including janitors, drivers, cafeteria workers, and teachers. As one school board member in Virginia recently put it, a substitute teacher who works five days a week has essentially been laid off a day and half every week once their hours get cut.
Many public universities and community colleges have made the same cuts. For Ivy Tech Community College in Carmel, Indianaa college which President Obama visited earlier this month-- the employer mandate would have increased their health insurance costs by up to $12 million annually. Unable to afford the increases, school administrators were forced to cut the teaching hours of adjunct faculty. Miami-Dade College in Florida even instituted the same policy for which the president criticized Staples, capping part-time employees at 25 hours worked per week.
Who is being hurt by this trend? People who need every hour of work they can find. These are some of our neediest neighbors for whom economic conditions were already precarious enough without the added danger of losing work and wages. This partially explains why the countrys underemployment rateunemployment as well as people who are involuntarily working part-timestands at 12 percent, more than double the official unemployment rate.

All going according to this Admin’s plan of forcing eveyone onto Government care. That way the Government will decide who gets care and who doesn’t. And guess what, Freepers......WE won’t be getting any of the care that our skyrocketing taxes should pay for, for us.
Wrecking the best healthcare system in the world, provision by provision. Attribute the unintended consequences results to either concerted purpose, as insurance carriers were persuaded to sell their souls to socialism.
I remember, back in the midst of the 1980’s roaring Reagan recovery, how the MSM constantly complained that most of the jobs were “hamburger flipper” jobs.
This was a constant mantra on the Sunday morning shows.

They LIE!
All who Voted Him into office, TWICE
No LESS.
I’m an IT contractor and over 60 (no employer paid health insurance). If I got the bronze plan, it would cost me more than my mortgage, my car payment and my monthly heating bill - COMBINED.
Nope.
The good news is that health care is really cheap when you pay cash. The insurance isn’t worth it.
The guy who started out flipping hamburgers in 1983 is likely a CEO today.
Nah, that cant be! Havent you people heard? Obamacare is a raging success!

Shame on semi-literate headline writers who do not know that it’s “whom” when it is the object of the preposition.
Fellow IT contractor here...
I feel your pain.
So far it’s not pain. :-D
$25 to get a crown reglued last year and $25 for the Chiropractor for my wife.
And this year? My wife went in to get her eyes checked and get contacts and other stuff. Entire bill? ~$375. Oh, are you paying with Amex rather than insurance? $106.
HAHAHAHAHA!
I recently went to do my preop at a local hospital for a cash surgery. When I checked in at the front desk the gal asked for my insurance card. I said its cash and you should’ve seen the look on her face. Lol. She had to call around and find someone who knew what to do with a cash preop.
Public schools have been affected rather than effected.
Lucky u. My wife is type 1 with complications.
25 bucks wont cover much.
But, but I am covered for maternity care under ObamaCare. Now I don’t have to worry about paying for the child I can not physically have.
