Fox's Bolling and Kilmeade Think Starbucks' Race Campaign a Good Idea
Mediaite ^ | March 18, 2015 | Evan McMurry

Starbucks’ #racetogether campaign, in which baristas are instructed to begin conversations on race with customers, drew bipartisan mockery yesterday, to the point that a Starbucks executive had to shut down his Twitter account.

But the Seattle coffee chain has two defenders, at least: Fox News hosts Brian Kilmeade and Eric Bolling.

“I like this idea,” Bolling said on The Five last night, getting a double-take from Juan Williams. “I think it’s a great way to start the conversation. …Fantastic that they are going to take the discussion from behind the counter to the people.”

This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Imagine all of the fights at Starbucks because the barista started a discussion over race.

Starbucks needs to stay the hell out of politics, and I say this as a shareholder.

STFU Schultz.

I stopped buying anything Starbucks when I became aware of their lefty slant. I do that for any company that wants to promote the left’s view.

Starbucks is stupid for doing this. Truly stupid.

It also opens the door to all sorts of litigation from employees who may been punished for politically incorrect speech.

If no employee can strike up discussions of controversial/political subjects with customers, that is one thing (a hard and fast uniformly applied rule). When the employees are encouraged to confront customers on the highly charged issue of race relations in America (President Obama, Islam in America, police shootings, self defense, amnesty, reparations, white privilege, etc.), they are going to find some employees who don't stick to the script (they don't all tow the liberal line; also, some may be 'provoked' into a hostile response based on something a customer may say).

What good can come of this?

I’m not going to have a race discussion with anyone who is handling my food.

Nope. Your food will get Jesse Jacksoned.

I simply can't wait until some little Sociology major from Starbucks tries to get me in a conversation about race to tries to instruct me on it. I hope he/she/it has lots of time and the people behind me do too.

It will be a looo-o-ng afternoon for the little dweeb and I'll bet their coffee sales are down, too...

Gimme a white cupcake with white frosting and a glass of white milk in a white cup for my white cat. And I want my receipt printed on white paper. Serve it on a white tray, please. My white privilege needs refueling.

I can imagine that a lot of people - not necessarily conservatives - would avoid Starbucks over this absurd policy. Not so much as a protest, but because they don’t want to made uncomfortable and potentially drawn into an argument just in order to buy a latte.

They were discussing this on “Fox & Friends” this morning. Steve Doocy was against it. He had written on his Starbucks plastic cup: “Shut up and pour.”

People should ask how Starbuck$ thinks it is not racist to cheat third-world growers of their coffee as they do. Let’s start THAT conversation.

Look up C.A.F.E. standards that Starbuck$ created to make believe they were being fair when they pay lowest prices on crap coffee beans.

In their defense, they bounce from topic to topic in a couple minutes; they generally are pretty conservative. I’m not gonna slam them.

OTOH, the idea, reduces the “conversation” to categorizing and dividing, and, in a fast food joint, such “race conversations” are not meant to be a couple minutes...they take time like a crock pot. We are doing a Christ-based mixed group at our church, multi-racial, political, and aged, and it is going well and we are discussing very heavy topics every other week. Is it something we sought? Look forward to, no, but it is necessary and we are getting deeper - quite the opposite of 0bummer’s division or some company’s stupid white-guilt diversity blackmail protection from Sharpton.
