Final count: Likud boosted to 30 seats, Meretz up to 5 [Israel Election]
The Jerusalem Post ^ | Thursday, March 19, 2015 | Staff Report

After some 200,000 additional ballots were counted from IDF soldiers, absentees, prisoners and the hospitalized between Wednesday and Thursday night, the final count of votes in Tuesday's election shows that the Likud has risen from 29 to 30 seats and Meretz has gained another seat, totaling five mandates.

United Torah Judaism dropped to six seats along with the Joint (Arab) List dropping to 13 mandates.

In addition, according to Israel's Central Election Committee, out of a total of 5,878,362 eligible voters 4,253,336 participated in Tuesday's election or 72.3 percent of the electorate. Furthermore, the electoral threshold for any party to participate in the next Knesset was 136,808 votes with 33,482 votes to equal one mandate.

Exit pollsters who presented a woefully inaccurate map of Tuesday’s election outcome are searching for clues as to why their results differed so vastly from the final figures.

Perhaps the Israeli’s are lying to their pollsters just like we do here?

It appears that the Obama machine’s election fixing squad has lost its “mojo”. Either that or it doesn’t work in Israel. In some places, freedom still trumps free stuff.

You just can’t depend on Exit Polling ... that’s the problem in a nutshell!

BUT it did give Netanyahu and the Likud a BOOST in their final votes, because they thought they were losing and so doubled their efforts, and got good results as a consequence of those Exit Polls ... :-) ...

or perhaps the exit polling was skewed towards certain voters?

I remember hearing that people were congratulating John Kerry and calling him “Mr. President” on the afternoon of election day 2004, based on early exit polls that day. It turned out, that those exit polls were from more Democrat and early in the day voters. Republican leaning voters tend to go to work, and vote after work, and so were not counted in those early exit polls.

Israelis are very likely to lie to exit pollsters. It’s small country (pop. like Wisconsin, but without neighboring states), and everybody knows your business. Switching parties too openly can cause you grief in your social circles.

Bubba said it best, “Them pollsters Dogma done got run over by their Karma.”

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving bunch.

One of the things I noticed here with exit pollsters is their tendency to poll like minded people is quite high and does not necessarily match the demographics of the polling location.

Likud = 30 seats (conservative coalition)
Zionist Union = 24 seats (center-left)
Joint (Arab) List = 13 seats (radical Islamist and leftists)
Yesh Atid = 11 seats (secular middle)
Kulanu = 10 seats (economics focus, conservative coalition)
Jewish Home = 8 seats (religious focus, conservative coalition)
Shas = 7 seats (ultra-orthodox religious, conservative coalition)
United Torah Judaism = 6 seats (ultra-orthodox religious, conservative coalition)
Yisrael Beytenu = 6 seats (secular right wing Russian-speaking nationalists, conservative coalition)
Meretz = 5 seats (very left wing)

A coalition of conservative/religious parties will control the government with 67 of the 120 seats in the Knesset.

There is a lot of infighting at the UTJ, thus the reason they lost a seat. Meretz is essentially a communist party with hard left social views. Looks like Meretz simply picked up the seat that the Joint List lost.

Because the left, including those in pop culture, the media, and academia have accomplished their goal of making conservatism something to hide from or apologize for.

Exit polling is essentially vote tampering. It is a form of campaigning outside the polling places.

IMO, the primary purpose of exit pollsters is to influence the vote of those yet to vote. Their objective is to influence the trendy people who want to "vote for the winner" and those who say "why bother?" if their candidate appears to be losing.

Actually very few pollsters give you an accurate reading from their polls. Their polls are always slanted by their political bias, one way or the other!!! Obama ordered his left-wing “Bibi” haters to do his bidding...it did not work!!! Forget the polls in the world of today...thy have lost all merit and honesty!!! “Bibi, now , needs Obama for nothing!!!

Bibi is now going to hook in with Eygpt, Saudia Arabia, Jordan, etc. and they are going to spike all of Obama’s love, adorees, ISIS/the Muslim Brotherhood, the Iranians, & Al Qaeda, big time. Obama is now the lamest of POTUS “Lame Ducks” in history, Obama and his media is just simply to dumb to realize it!!!
