McArther was fired because he wanted ‘to enter China and use Nukes’ once he had pushed back the Chinese far enough to do just that....and that wasn't going to be. Being in a war between N. Korea vs. S. Korea and “assisting” them was our mission...not war directly with China. Which had McArthur had his way that's exactly the direction he would have gone.
With all due respect, are you aware of Encheon. Ill bet not.
You need to clear you mind and take a fresh look at how far Americans penetrated into China— About 1700 miles. All the way the Chinese fled in panik or they were slaughtered like pigs. I wish we had used nukes. Don’t you or are you a pacifist? You like Communist China?
Are you communist chinese?
Caww, I see you made a point similar to mine, which I had not seen when I wrote the related comment. I was not aware of any significant penetration into China, any good references?
I was nine years younger than my husband, so my memories may be a little off. Is Encheon the same as Inchon that my husband used to talk about? I believe that was our initial difficult landing. He also used to talk about something that I remember as Chorwan Reservoir. ON a lighter note, his first sentence learned in Korean was: “Pick it up and put it over there.”
Like Patton wanting to fight Russia (arming the Germans), foreseeing the nature of the future bear, which, if even possible, could have saved a lot of Jews and others from Stalin's oppression.
