President Obama’s spokesman urged the top tax chairmen in Congress Thursday not to “lose any sleep” about the possibility of the president raising taxes through unilateral executive action.
“To the extent that there is a lot of fretting and hand-wringing on Capitol Hill, I would urge them to not lose any sleep over this,” said White House press secretary Josh Earnest, who added that the president doesn’t have any “imminent decision” to announce on taxes.

If Republican lawmakers are worried, he said, “maybe it’s worth burning a little midnight oil to try to get to work in bipartisan fashion to take some common-sense steps in the direction of business-tax reform that would make our tax code more fair but also stand to channel more benefits to the middle class.”

Maybe the reason Obama is impossible to trace is that he spent his first 14 years in a nut house.
Not that it matters much anymore, but I thought the power to tax was explicitly given to Congress in the Constitution. I am certain the GOP will just whimper in the corner over this brazen seizure of power. I fear Obama could suspend elections and declare himself President for Life without any repercussions.

Obama and his Marxist filth understand a truth that most in this country have had no experience with; means-to-the-end-politics.
Meaning, whatever is required to achieve the goals that is what is done: tell the big lie, and tell it repeatedly and often; say what you intend to do off the record, then deny it while implementing it; project your methodology on those you intend to destroy; create the problem and use it to implement policy already intended.
We would call it demonic evil, clever wickedness, intelligent deception. Many prefer to think of it all as incompetence.

I can think of nothing in our Constitution that allows the Executive to simply decree taxes.

We’ve seen plenty of press secretaries who think they wield their principals’ power, but Josh Earnest seems to believe his job is to insult his boss’s political opponents rather than provide official information to the press. I’m beginning to wonder if any of our institutions will survive Obama’s ruinous presidency.
In a real Constitutional Republic, he would have been impeached and imprisoned long ago.
