He could not even get thru Jesuit school & dropped out before becoming a priest.

His private life bounced all over the place.

He is a hippie from the 70’s who never could grow up.

I cannot express how glad I am that I am OUT of California.

I lived in San Diego from 96 to 06. I really loved the weather, the beaches, the nearby mountains, the awesome fresh and saltwater fishing, and the delicious Baja cuisine. I really miss that. My present wife came out for my last year there, and she loved it all too. We ended up moving back to Florida (we both grew up together there and wanted to share our new wedded happiness and children with family), vowing to return again someday. The political climate was not ideal, but in relatively conservative San Diego, it was tolerable. We had found a great bible based church, and our children were attending a Christian school/home school.

It is with great disappointment that we now say we never will, I don't see it changing.

There are plenty of valid points that can be made against Jerry Brown, but that he left the Jesuit seminary should not count as one of them. He may have just realized that he wasn't cut out to be a priest. I believe that in that era, 90% or more of the Catholic boys who entered a seminary left before ordination. Jesuit seminaries were especially demanding so their attrition rate may have been higher.

The Catholic Church has had to deal with a lot of troublesome priests in recent decades--fortunately Edmund G. Brown, Jr., wasn't one of them.
