The thing is most Christians know this for what it is. No where does the Bible teach that we are to set up a theocratic state and “bring in the Kingdom”. Jesus never attempted it (he will of course upon His return) but told Pilot, “my Kingdom is not of this world…” Our own founders recognized this. Replacement theology (church replaces Israel) is largely the issue here. That teaching is totally bogus - however - more and more the left is going to use this kind of wacky stuff to attack real Biblical Christianity. Unfortunately today, they have lots of example to pick from.

The problem is Christians no longer warn about the wrath of God. Why go to Jesus for escape from His wrath when you don’t even believe His wrath is about to be unleashed? Take away the death penalty and that all get a trophy and you have taught that all are ok and there is no punishment for immorality.
