Yeah, I don’t know why people make a big deal about it being a 25 year old plane. If it is maintained well (which Lufthansa Technik is the #1 MRO in the world), it can last for many more decades. Lufthansa is still flying 737 Classics built in the 70s!

Planes crash, it happens. They aren’t 100% foolproof.

I flew on an American MD80 that was pretty old, and I felt safer on it than the Airbus that I was on the way back. Just how it is sometimes. I really don’t like Airbus. They seem cheap inside and out and ‘disposable’.

If the implication is that 25 year old jets are prone to breaking down mid-flight and falling out of the sky, they can just go ahead and shut down the airline industry now.
