Former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker harshly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the J Street conference in Washington on Monday, echoing White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonoughs comments earlier in the day.
Baker acknowledged his disappointment with the lack of progress regarding a lasting peace, saying that the chances for a two-state solution diminished since Netanyahus reelection last week.
Baker further slammed Netanyahus diplomatic missteps and political gamesmanship, saying that the prime ministers actions have not matched his rhetoric, according to Politico.
Earlier in the day, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough offered a similar rebuke of Netanyahu specifically the prime ministers claims that no Palestinian state would be established on his watch.

Baker continued by claiming that hardliners on both sides are the biggest impediment to peace.

Obama and Baker would get along just fine in regards to their attitudes towards Israel ... AND ... in terms of their attitudes towards the right in terms of Israel! AND THEN ... Baker talking to J Street, well ... what else is necessary to know?!
Just confirmed my decision not to vote for Jeb Bush!
Dude ain’t gots da brains of a ice cube.
I really tire of these people.
He and his former boss have always hated Israel.
Former Secretary of State James A. Baker III: once a jerk, always a jerk.
Jeb’s team stakes out his territory - right alongside the anti-semitic nitwits in the State Dept. and the White House.
