And that is not hard to believe considering the cop who placed him in a chokehold and punched him in the face 16 times is William Melendez, a cop who was indicted for planting drugs and falsifying reports when he worked as a Detroit police officer.
How does such a person ever end up serving on another police force?
It's ludicrous. There is just no accountability.
Civil case against the city and the cop for as much as he can get. The city should be punished for hiring a cop who has, multiple times, abused his power. Criminal case against the cops. It’s like watching a troop of monkeys. When the head monkey chimps out the rest follow suit. Make it a rule cops can’t watch MMA or WWE. These choke holds are dangerous.
How does a police state form and take hold? Hint - Start with police and destroy the protections of patriarchy! As one rises the other falls, like a teeter-totter.
The police tell themselves that they serve and protect people, what they most often do is intimidate and enforce unnecessary laws. They protect and serve the state not the individual. With so many laws on the books, one cannot drive out of a parking lot without breaking one, so the citizens are always in violation of some law and always in fear of the police and power of the state. Back when men defended and protected women and the weak there was less need for a police occupation. Now women and weak men have traded their would be protectors for a state run tyranny.
You reap what you sow, and America has sown the weeds that choke out liberty!
Well said. It's so terribly true. It can't continue.
This is a real problem. Bad cops don’t get washed out of the system. They simply get to resign and move on to other departments.
At this point there is a whole lot more bad in the cop profession than most other professions.
All one has to do is read the pages of FR to see that.
The problem is that the "good" cops protect the bad cops so it's hard to say that they are actually good.
Scott Walker may have wasted political capital by sparing Wisconsins police and fire fighters/
Walker’s biggest mistake, IMO.

Almost all other state worker unions had their bargaining authority stripped under Walker's signature legislation known as 2011 Act 10 and then had their members' take-home pay reduced by roughly 10% because of cuts to health care and pension benefits.
The State Patrol union was spared both of those blows and still negotiated a roughly 17% pay increase for its members in a contract with the Walker administration.

You ever wait in line at a DMV, Post office or any other gub horse crap gub mint agency while lines are out the door and the employees move like snails?
Yesterday I filed to re-do my flight medical.
They asked if I’d ever been arrested.
If the gub mint can ask me that why can’t they ask some applicant for a police position?
Surprised this guy and others who’ve suffered like him hasn’t gone on a serious pay back.
WTH, he isnt defending the cops, Not sure why you decided to insult him either, sheesh, calm down.
He was saying if you complain, you are a cop hater, and ....cops are just good and bad, no big deal. (in so many words) I’m calm. Just ...this is a case where the cops were openly bad, openly evil.
Maybe with the exception of prison guards at the supermax facilities where the worst of the worst are housed. After they've served their OWN time, that is!
Bkmk
manc defends cops ALWAYS.
