There's a shakeup happening at the Rocky Ford Police Department.
The City Manager has reassigned Chief Frank Gallegos and promoted a captain to take on the chief's role.
We received a handful of tips from our viewers in Rocky Ford who were too afraid to talk on camera, saying they still don't trust the police force.
It has been a tough six months for the department as former Officer James Ashby heads to trial for second-degree murder in the death of Jack Jacquez.
As that case moves forward, we uncovered Chief Frank Gallegos is now a commander.
His position has been filled with the promotion of Capt. Mickey Bethel.
Bethel's name may sound familiar. In 2006, he was terminated from the Pueblo Police Department and later charged with witness tampering.

Questions are now being raised over the hiring of Bethel's son, Justin, who is currently a patrol officer.
Justin has prior criminal convictions for prohibited use of a gun while drunk, careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a DUI.

Lots of trouble in this small town police force. Something tells me this won't help the situation.
Ping with an update.
A town with about 4200 people? How big is that police department?
Five or six. It was the same when I grew up there in the 70's, but the population was closer to 5500 then.

Big enough to cause real trouble for any one who would tamper with it. You could end up with a cantaloup on your plate if not careful. Seriously, look at the Communist Democratic Parth and gangsters from south of the border.
Sounds like a clean sweep is needed in this town.

I grew up down the road in Pueblo...
I still find it amazing that I could be in contact with someone who even knows about that wide spot in the road. I suppose the goal of youngsters is to get out of town when they come of age.
It was a pretty family oriented the place when I lived there. A great place to be a kid.
My wife graduated from RF in 1980. I am a Hoehne Farmer :)
Why do they even need a police force? We have more people that that in Dover, Sydney, and Turkey Creek and they and we do not have a police force in either place. The County Sheriff takes care of them.
