“Mr. President”?
(On a related note, what do you call an attorney who graduated at the bottom of his class? A: “Your Honor”!)
I think their ability to speak Spanish fluently is a secret weapon. So does Jeb Bush, whose wife, Columba, is from Mexico; speaks nothing but Spanish at home. If any one of them gets on a Hispanic radio and chats with an interviewer, it will make a huge impact.
The message that dependency on government is existence where, independence of government is fulfillment, is a message that will separate them from the Democrats. A jobs message that puts people to work building a southern fence will be the ticket. It is no wonder the Dems fear this advantage.
Those are some great points....believable.
The Mexicans I know are about making money and are no fans of Mexican style government.
This will get interesting
I don’t think that Cruz is fluent in Spanish. He describes his capability as Spanglish, and won’t do debates in Spanish.
But he does have a good feel for the culture, and is a credible insider.
“what you call a Republican that gets 40% (of Hispanics) in a national election?”
Mr. President.
I know many others like me (including my extended family). They have the same core values I do and are in almost every way the type of Republicans Ronald Reagan spoke about--they just don't know it yet. They have been so brainwashed by their teachers and the media and by Socialist "Latino Leaders" that they go against their own values and support leftists like Obama.
These are the types of people Ted Cruz needs to reach. The brainwashing is strong in these ones, but if he can show them that his values are their values, and that the Left has been using them for the last 50 years, he can resonate with them.
It’s not about race. It’s about separation from elite crony corporate socialism. Is Cruz about that?
It's easy to forget but Bill Richardson (D) ran in 2008. His campaign went nowhere even though he was arguably the most qualified rat.
The first 'Latino' period was Republican Ben Fernandez who was a minor candidate in 1980 and 1984.
Ethanol.
Ted Cruz, the Republican U.S. senator from Texas who has become the first major candidate to officially enter the 2016 presidential campaign, is quietly gambling that those words were never truer than in the upcoming campaign where he also apparently becomes the first major Latino figure to run for the White House.
Uh oh...
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint gonna resign.
