I, think they’re both mediocre as actors and people. Even if, in your opinion, they can act, they shouldn’t be given any benefit of the doubt that they actually have brains.
As I said, Sly Stallone, having worked with Gere years ago had a falling out with him and was jealous of him. Sly started the rumor about the gerbil out of pure meanness. Stalone admits he started the false rumor. GOOGLE IT

I don’t like their politics (They’re almost ALL Libs. If we judged them by their politics, could we like ANY of them or even go to the movies? I just block it out- separate the two)
I like Gere because he’s a good actor and so handsome.
