Are you talking about a Total Eclipse in the USA in 2009? My understanding is that this would be the first total eclipse for the USA in 38 years.
THEN ... the next one after 2017 would be 2024!
There was a 2009 annular that hit CONUS.
Annulars can be nice but it’s like kissin your cousin. I’ve been under the moon shadow 5 times, not including a rainout, plus I’ve seen several annulars and I don’t count partials at all. Had to travel a bit! 2017 I can drive to!
