What baffles me is all the warning signs, and apparently his former girlfriend -- a stewardess yet -- just kept popping her bubblegum with that dingie look on her face while this young co-pilot disintegrated right before her eyes and announced that his name was going to go down in history... just like Himmler. These young underpaid and overworked pilots is why I don't like to fly on anything but a big jet aircraft, preferably Boeing, commanded by seasoned salt-and-pepper haired American male pilots who probably have tens of thousands of hours in the air in the USAF or US Navy at the controls of a big refueling tanker. Like the kind of guys who've flown a KC-46A over every region of the planet.
I want Neil and Buzz up there in the cockpit on every plane I buy a ticket on, not Gerhard the weepy and deranged European techno DJ who doesn't know how to fly the Airbus without the autopilot running because he just got out of high school a few years ago.
