I’ve never understood what it is about being in the Senate that old farts like McCain, Thad Cochran, Kennedy and scores of others can’t live without.
It seems the idea of not being in the Senate to these guys is kind of like mommy taking her 3 year old sons favorite toy away from him and having then to listen to him scream!

It’s an aristocracy. They REALLY believe that the nation can’t survive without their insight. Though when they’re replaced, we do just fine.
