It’s pretty obvious from the photographs that somebody beat the bejesus out of the soon-to-be-former senator from Nevada. And yet the national media has uncritically swallowed the cover story that “exercise equipment” was to blame for the loss of sight in the former majority leader’s right eye. Baloney. As far as I can tell, the piece of equipment allegedly behind the beatdown of Sen. Pat Geary has not been identified, but I can tell you from experience if the senator was using, say, a Soloflex machine this would be impossible: the weight straps simply come apart without any snapping or ricochet. His story is, to put it mildly, bunk, as Power Line’s John Hinderaker notes:
Scott wrote here about Harry Reid’s announcement that he will not run for re-election, a decision which, Reid was quick to say, was not the result of his “elastic exercise band” accident. In January, I wrote OK, So What Really Happened to Harry Reid? I noted the injuries that Reid suffered on New Year’s Day, in Las Vegas: multiple broken bones around his right eye, damage to the right eye, severe facial bruising, broken ribs, and a concussion. Was all of this really the result of losing his balance because an elastic exercise band broke? That seems unlikely, to say the least.
Anyone who saw Reid would say that he looked like he had been beaten up by a guy with a hard left, maybe using brass knuckles. When a guy shows up at a Las Vegas emergency room on New Year’s Day with severe facial injuries and broken ribs, and gives as an explanation the functional equivalent of “I walked into a doorknob,” it isn’t hard to guess that he ran afoul of mobsters. Yet the national press has studiously averted its eyes from Reid’s condition, and has refused to investigate the cause of his injuries. To my knowledge, every Washington reporter has at least pretended to believe Reid’s story, and none, as far as I can tell, has inquired further.
Of course not — why would they? Court stenographers don’t get paid to think or ask questions. But take a look at the legendarly corrupt senator’s facial bruises and tell me somebody didn’t work him over but good, with a left to the jaw and repeated blows to his eye socket. They didn’t want to kill him, but they sure wanted to send him a message. And that message was: time to retire.
Note also that the second video directly contradicts the first one:
He was using an elastic band with his hands - the bungee cord type with handles - while he was jogging on a treadmill at the same time. The handle slipped and struck his eye and he then fell down on the treadmill and did the rest of the damage. Nothing as exciting as getting beaten up.
He is supposed to have a full-time security detail assigned to him from the US Capitol Police to keep the citizen riff-raff away.

He was so corrupt when he worked for the Gaming Commission that he should have known there was going to be a comeuppance some day. The mobsters don’t forgive easily.
If he double-crossed anyone with any power at all, he has been warned. They won’t go quietly into that good night.

Larry got arrested for drunk and disorderly, plus resisting arrest, and he had the facial lacerations to prove he was innocent. Harry said it was “private family business.” I wonder now if the “beating” Larry took was a warning to Harry that he didn’t heed.
Could Reid have come across one of Obama’s “sons” while he was walking the streets of Searchlight, NV? I wonder if he could have been the victim of a knock-out game gone perfectly.
Here’s my theory: Harry Reid attended a party with a group of Hollywood celebrities, when he and Rosie O’Donnell both reached for the last piece of pie at the same time.
Reporter: What’s the brand of the exercise equipment that caused your injury?
Reid: Beats me.
It wasn’t gambling but more likely the property swap that went away when that rancher stood up to the Feds and got to keep his land. Lots of money didn’t change hands like it was supposed to have happened.

Considering it is Rosie O’Donnell you are talking about, I tend to think of another word that begins w/ the letter “p” that she would want a “piece” of. The word is related to cats.
His current injury results from a left hook to the jaw and another to the eye.

Oh, I’ve seen these. I had three elderly aunts and uncles. They all went through Alzheimers. They would fall over stuff all of the time.
The key to a fall injury bruise is the arms. Unless you are knocked out cold, there are always bruises on the arms. Or at his age, broken hips, or shoulders.
The indications on his face are from a whooping.
It’s got to be someone he knows, otherwise we’d hear about an assault arrest.. Mafia boss in Vegas most likely.
A local mob with the goods on Harry for decades of felonies would have enough power to beat him up and keep him quiet about it. It definitely wasn't Obama or the DOJ. If they wanted Harry, they'd just prosecute him for his obvious corruption, like they suddenly decided to do with Menendez.

I would think that Harry could get the FEDs to protect him from the local mob. They’ve gone after, and destroyed, many mob bosses before. John Gotti died in prison. Raymond Patriarcha got put away. Vincent “the Chin” had his activities curtailed, and so on.
Then again, I’m not from anywhere near Nevada. Maybe those guys are more untouchable than the mob families on the East Coast that have been taken down.
No, the real question is, if the gay FBI, CIA, NSA, DNA, and the Secret Service do NOT make a strong public showing of actually investigating who had the audacity to do this to a top government official, then how do we know that, say, John Roberts wasn't also threatened with physical harm if he doesn't vote the right way?
How do we regain confidence that our representative government isn't under the threat of death by an unknown shadow organization if our security apparatus fails to investigate this incident to the fullest?
How do we know it wasn't the Chinese or the Russians who did this?

So, whenm he’s retired and loses the protectorate of the US Gov’t, can we expect him to disappear one night like Jimmy Hoffa?
I live in the Las Vegas Valley, but there are LOTS of things no one tells me. And since I don’t run in the same circles as Harry (thank Heaven for small favors!) I can’t really address that question intelligently.
I think we will all hear less and less of him. :o]
