I thought that ozone (O3) was unstable and becomes O2 relatively easily. If such is the case, then isn’t O2 being changed into O3 by ultraviolet light at west coast USA? And if such is the case then why blame Asia for O3?

Sorry for non-expert question but wanted to break the ice.

Other nations in Asia.,.. Yes, lets dump them all in together even though there’s only one massive offender out there. Mustn’t allow anyone to think were xenophobic with regards to the Chinese.

I think we can safely say that the North Koreans may have the cleanest air in Asia as they require so little energy to fuel their massive industrial infrastructure...

Those dirt and rock farms...are SO GREEN!!

The residents of the San Joaquin Valley have asthma at twice the rate of people in other parts of the state, the university said. Despite considerable improvement in California's notoriously troublesome air, the San Joaquin Valley recently missed a federal deadline for cleaning up its winter air of sooty particulates, a development blamed on warm, dry conditions and stagnant air.

The San Joaquin Valley is farmland. It's also very dusty and has problems that contribute to asthma on a scale that makes it somewhat laughable that smog even second-hand smog is the major factor here. Pollen rates on farmland are high, The plants need to be pollinated to produce.

Once again the Left skews an issue to advance it's cause. In so doing it alienates the thinking person.

My only quibble with that would be the winter months, when “God forbid in the U. S. at least” the North Korean’s burn wood to stay warm. Imagine those vile people trying to stay alive. Makes the blood boil!!! /s

"They're just figuring this out now!"

No, this has been well known for quite a while. It's called Ozone Transport(google it).

Does the Ohio valley pollute NYC? Does Houston pollute Dallas?

Who is down wind from California's pollution?

Generally, ozone drifts only about 100-150 miles before it disperses. OTOH, the sulfur from burning coal drifts in further distances.

This is the object of ones of Obama's pollution regulations, which is called Cross State Pollution(google it)

They could install really big fans and blow it back to China and could produce electricity as a byproduct of the fans operation to desalinate water to cure the drought. (note: credit is due to Slow Joe Biden for the original thought).

Couldn’t have happened to a better group of leftist tree-huggers. How this state is still operating while being multi-billions in the hole, I don’t know. But the liberals in Sacremento and Gov. Moonbeam won’t help in any way to turn the state around. They will only make matters worse.
