Caroline Glick: Annex Judea and Samaria Now
inn ^ | 4/1/15 | Yoni Kempinski and Elad Benari

Journalist and writer Caroline Glick, author of the book "The Israeli Solution: A One-State Plan for Peace in the Middle East", says Israel should annex Judea and Samaria now, in response to President Barack Obama’s statements that the United States will “re-evaluate” its support for Israel at the United Nations.

Seeing as Obama is planning to change American policy and “force Israel into completely indefensible borders”, Glick told Arutz Sheva, “the time has come for Israel to come out with an alternative policy, and the alternative policy that we have to put out is applying Israeli law and sovereignty to Judea and Samaria”.

“The question couldn’t be more urgent,” said Glick, whose book deals with this very issue and of which a Hebrew edition was recently published.

“The government has got to put forward a new policy regarding the Palestinians,” she continued. “The two states failed, we all know it, [and] we can’t resurrect it because it wasn’t we that made it fail.”

The two state framework hasn’t worked, but isn’t a one state framework a time-bomb at Israel’s expense?

Perhaps annexing the land then allowing some form of self-rule for the Arabs in their sector would work out, as long as they couldn’t vote in Israeli elections.

Israel could administer some form of governance too, so that the Arab areas would be financially stable and independent of foreign interference.

says Israel should annex Judea

This will upset the Peoples' Front of Judea, and the Judean Peoples' Front.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking that.

That solution always sounds good ... initially ... and without further thought, by many supporters of Israel. Many times it’s prefaced with something to the effect that it all belings to Israel anyway.

But it turns out to be a TOTAL DISASTER upon further thinking!

The further thinking is this: Israel already has 20% of its population right now ... who are Arabs, and who have been given full Israeli citizenship BY LAW (Israel’s own law). They voted for their own Arab party this last election and are the THIRD LARGEST PARTY in Israel (with only 20% of the population). If Israel were to take over ALL THE LAND that they conquered in the war, that would mean another SIX MILLION ARABS in Israel, besides the 20% already there!

With those SIX MILLION additional Arabs, who now BY LAW have the vote (because Israel says it is not an Apartheid state, and that’s true) ... the nation of Israel would turn into an ARAB-CONTROLLED STATE and no longer be the “Homeland for the Jews”. It wouldn’t be long before the Jews became second class citizens in their “former nation of Israel”!

There are not 6 million Arabs in Judea and Samaria.

There is no demographic threat. This was a false canard raised by the leftists years ago in order to propagandize for the two-state solution, and it has been thoroughly debunked for years. See, for example, http://foreignpolicy.com/2013/12/18/israels-demographic-time-bomb-is-a-dud/ Nobody can accuse Foreign Policy magazine of being right wing, and even that publication admits that the demographic threat does not exist.

There may be realpolitik reasons why it would be difficult for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria, but Israel would face no internal threat as a result of doing so.

Yes, indeed ... if Israel took over all the land it conquered, it would get SIX MILLION ARABS.

As to what impact they would have, all you have to see, in that regard, is that RIGHT NOW, without Israel taking over all the land, the existing 20% of the Arabs already have the THIRD LARGEST PARTY in Israel. Add in those extra Arabs, and you don’t have a Jewish State any more, but an “Arab-controlled state”!

Here is a blast of reality, exposing the bogus demographic threat that does not exist: http://www.algemeiner.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Yoram-Ettinger-Demography-English.pdf

Here is another piece, this time in article rather than power-point form, making the case quite compellingly: http://chersonandmolschky.com/2015/03/11/arab-womb-fertile-all-israel/

You can propagandize against annexation all night long if you wish, but the facts are the facts and there simply is no demographic threat to Israel that would result from its annexation of Judea and Samaria.

Arabs make up about 20% of Israel excluding Judea and Samaria, and the combined list of Arab parties (the single party that you refer to) makes up just 20% of the Israeli Knesset. The combined list is not going to be able to hang together because the interests of the various factions are at odds with one-another, and as soon as they break up at least one, and probably at least two, of the parties that comprise the Arab list will fail to win enough votes to achieve representation in the Knesset.

Nobody who looks at the facts is at all concerned about the long-debunked demographic time-bomb argument against annexation.

Well, I know that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is against it. He said it again, right after the election, too ... that he will NOT SUPPORT that.

And, as I have always said, Prime Minister Benjamin Neyanyahu knows what is the right thing for Israel, is the best Israel could have, and I support Netanyahu 100% in his policies and actions! And you KNOW that Netanyahu does not support that for good reasons!

So given that Neyanyahu is the Prime Minister, you can be assured that is not going to happen ... :-) ...

Glick is right again.

The PLO and Hamas in unity assure making them neighbors assures a closer vantage point for missile attacks on Israel. Along with Hezzbollah Israel will be surrounded.
Already Iran is upgrading Hezzbollah’s missiles from scuds to guided precision missiles, and they brag they have not 35,000 like the last war but 100,000 this time.

Hamas and PLO never changed their charter and mission the elimination of Jews from Jordan river to the sea.

Obama102 can be counted on to put Israel in great risk.
Time to Annex is now and I also agree with AMB. John Bolton its time to bomb Iran now.

Correction: the combined Arab party makes up ten percent, not twenty percent, of the new Knesset. Sorry for the error.

This is the solution. I would add that Israel should control education in Judea and Samaria, so as to avoid raising further suicide bombers.

Israel should continue to profess adherence to the concept of a two-state solution for World consumption, in the knowledge that the Muslims will never agree to recognize Israel's right to exist. Israel can continually repeat Glick's words: "It wasn't we that made it fail."

Don’t argue with someone who breathlessly uses ALL CAPS, and appears to think they know more about Israel than Jews. Ignore him/her.

As usual, Glick is correct. I am sure there is something Egypt would like in order to give up the Sinai for a new “homeland” for the Philistines.

Sometimes it is necessary to engage him, because he posts his propaganda on every website that discusses Israel. His one point that he tries to make, over and over, is that he tries to convince us conservatives that Israel has to give up Judea and Samaria; as a corollary he maintains that Prime Minister Netanyahu supports a two-state solution.

He somehow believes that using ALL CAPS makes his lies more compelling, and that eliding with dots and ending with smiley-faces makes him look more reasonable.

True, there is no doubt a line of propaganda being spread. One that is decidedly not Zionist, and at times overtly anti-Judaism.
