The Church of the Left
National Review Online ^ | 4-3-15 | Yuval Levin

(Snip)

They [Christian small business owners]are in this sense more like religious believers under compulsion in a society with an established church than like believers denied the freedom to exercise their religion. Liberals are in this respect right to say they’re not trying to kill religious liberty. They’re trying to take it back to something like the form it had in the Anglo-American world when the Anglo-American world had a formal state religion—except now the state religion is supposed to be progressive liberalism.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; News/Current Events; Philosophy
KEYWORDS: gays; indiana; liberalism; progressivism; religion; religiousfreedom; religiousleft; rfra; secularhumanism; worldview
The comment section is also very good. Progressivism (secular humanism) is the unofficial state religion and Christians are being forced to pay respects to this false religion (by celebrating their pagan rituals, eg. gay marriages). Similar to when Christians had to make token offerings to Caesar or suffer a severe penalty.

EVERYONE is religious and has a religious worldview, since everyone has an opinion about religious topics, such as: is there a god, what is man, how did everything start, how will everything end, and is there Truth, Morality and meaning in life. It is only a question of whose religion and morality will be the basis of society. Secular humanism (Progressive Liberalism) is winning.

The church of the Left is based upon it’s most profound demonstration of faith — the human sacrifice of unborn children — to Moloch.

there is no institutional “church” in the original God’s word. The word was Ekklesia. I want you to do your own research. That word was changed in the King James to the Pagan form of worship i.e. Circe or Kirke meaning pagan gathering in a circle. It was changed to a control group because the actual Word meant “the called out” or believers. The institutional “Church” is a fraud . It was all to control you. It was a lie.

It’s no surprise that liberals acted like liberals in the Indiana freedom-of-religion brouhaha.

What’s surprising is that the self-declared conservative Governor of Indiana surrendered to the liberals almost immediately after they spoke out, instead of standing up for the Freedom of Religion bill he recently signed, which, like all similar bills is perfectly constitutional.

Conservatives can’t win battles if the soldiers we elect to lead us can’t endure the slightest bit of unpleasantness before running off the battlefield.

Any person who believes in a religion or cause can’t wait to speak out on its behalf. The Governor of Indiana had the whole media world in front of him to make his case for religious freedom and yet he refused to speak about anything but his sudden conversion to liberalism.

You are quite right. After 6.4 decades in this circus, I’m losing heart. No politician in my lifetime has failed to disappoint.

The Church of the Left and Christians start from different Bible statements.

God asked Cain a question. To avoid God’s question, Cain asked a non-sequitor: “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
The “Brother’s Keeper” premse/paradigm is the heart of the Church of the left.

When about to enter the promised land and start a new nation, Joshua told the people of Israel:
“Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

The concept that people have a choice of whom to serve and a choice in many things in life is the heart of the Judeo-Christian tradition.

The Left are Erudites and Hilary is their Jeanine (See movie Insurgents and Divergents.) The Left believes that the best and brightest can make the best decisions for the rest of us. Obama has an anti-Christian government program specifically named “Brother’s Keeper” in which the goal is to mentor youth into giving up their ability to choose and to learn to conform to the directives of the Erudites.
