Stalin was reportedly presented with a plan to kill Hitler. He turned it down, saying, “What if they replace him with somebody who’s competent?”

Enough Nazi leadership was “on board” that the machine of death was probably going to continue to churn even without Adolph. Certainly he was trying to establish a “thousand year rule”, there would inevitably be other successors.

That said, sure if the opportunity was there they should’ve taken Hitler out.

God wanted him there until he was finished with His plan. When he was finished with him, the war was over and Hitler died. If people did not learn the lesson from the war, how sad.

In some strange twist the German common man got lucky that Hitler never got assassinated and did call for total War, up to total self destruction.

The Aristocrats and Nobility ruled for centuries and were the driving machine for many of the wars for a long time, stuck in a feudalistic system
The VON's crept back under Hitler, but the absolute destruction and the strong influence of the USA after 1945 gave germans a 2nd chance.
Now you have at least 2 generations that never had to go to war or went to any military or never touched a Gun.
The 1st time in a thousand years.

...The abolition of the monarchies in Germany and Austria in 1919 meant that neither state has a privileged nobility...

...In Austria, in contrast, not only were the privileges of the nobility abolished, their titles and prepositions were abolished as well. Thus, for example, Friedrich von Hayek became Friedrich Hayek in 1919, when Austria abolished all indicators of nobility in surnames...

some high ranking Military leaders, At and before 1st WorldWar::

Prince August of Württemberg
Frederick I, Grand Duke of Baden
Prince of Bismarck, Duke of Lauenburg
Frederick II, Grand Duke of Baden
Prince Henry of Prussia
Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein
Günther Graf von Kirchbach

some high ranking Military leaders, At and before 2nd WorldWar::

Claus von Stauffenberg
Walther von Brauchitsch
Georg von Küchler
Hans-Jürgen von Arnim
Heinrich Gottfried von Vietinghoff-Scheel
Eberhard von Mackensen
Wernher von Braun (Aero Space)

It is all about:: who is ordering someone to die on the war field or actually dying on the field and guess who are the ones who actually did the dying. not the "VON's", but the Joes and the Jimmys.( about 40 million of them).

“The man who missed killing Hitler by 13 minutes”

I thought this thread was going to be about Jeb Bush!
