Ana Marie Cox: You Have to Force People to Do Things They Don’t Want To
breitbart.com ^ | 4/4/15 | Ian Hanchett

Writer Ana Marie Cox argued that “you’re going to have to force people to do things they don’t want to do” in a discussion on Indiana’s RFRA law on Saturday’s “Up with Steve Kornacki” on MSNBC.

“I think it’s important for the context of the discussion of the Indiana law to say that it was in part passed in response to what happened in new mexico to try and change the ability of people to — not have to do these kinds of things. I guess I want to — I don’t think they’re reconcilable [preventing discrimination and religious liberty]. I do think you’re going to have to force people to do things they don’t want to do. That’s sometimes what happens in a democratic society” Cox stated.

Load of codswallop. When lefties start talking about what is important, historic, etc. they are simply trying to substitute their opinion for fact/reality.

The 'context' is freedom, religious or otherwise, and free association as expressed in the Constitution.

These poor fools are so far gone they want to preempt ANY opposition or dissent and fully expect others to comply.

No person shall be ... deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

This used to be a constitutional republic, with strict written limits on the power of government. Now we are under the rule of force, with bread and circuses supplementing decisions that are made only based on their mob appeal. The (for her unfortunate) fact is that the totalitarian left cannot force us to comply with their demands. This could get VERY ugly. The peaceful option is to restore the rule of law using our votes no later than November, 2016. The other option is my second choice, and it is less desirable.

Then let's force women to pay for their own birth control.

“Now, what are we going to do about twits like Cox telling us to sit down, shut up, and suck up our liberties?”

Make sure she’s one of the first to pay the price for doing so would be my suggestion.

I don’t think they’re reconcilable [preventing discrimination and religious liberty]

It's really very simple.

If you cannot discriminate, you are not free.

I have a dream. by ASSEMBLYMAN TIM DONNELLY

I have a dream that I will wake up one day in a country where we don’t have to go to court or pass a law to protect our fundamental natural rights—from the government.

Baptists opposed Patrick Henry when he wanted the state to fund churches. Several states established state churches and tried to make everyone pay taxes to it. Baptists went to jail for opposing this.

“Likewise, in Culpeper, Virginia, itinerant Ja
mes Ireland was arrested
and jailed. Some of
his followers came to hear him preach through th
e cell grate, but opponent
s drove them away. A
number of Ireland’s African American devotees we
re whipped for coming to see him. Ireland’s
enemies would not relent, and some burned brim
stone and “Indian pepper” at the cell door,
hoping to suffocate him. Some of his tormentors even
urinated on him. All to
ld, about thirty four
Baptist preachers were jailed in
Virginia in the 1760s and 1770s”

They don’t even consider for a minute that they like totalitarianism.

ok ann- how about we pass a law that FORCES you to give away all your earned income to the needy? What? You don’t want to do that? Too bad. How about we FORCE you to donate your money to pro-life Groups? What? You wouldn’t think of such a thing? Weird... How about we FORCE you to spend the rest of your life behind bars where your ignorant ideology can’t affect anyone else? What? You mean that’s not fair? Golly- you just got done telling us WE should be forced to do things we don’t like-

The McCainiacs (and even a few FReepers) think the draft/public service is a great idea. You know, the government OWNS you for a couple of years.

My point being, very few Americans would tolerate the freedom we’re supposed to have. Don’t ever say public schools are failing. This is the exactly what they were created for. This totalitarian woman is typical.
