Cool. They should draft the “well we weren’t quite close enough” press release now so it’s ready.

why do you need a veto proof? Treaties don’t get passed via executive order which is assumed by needing a veto proof. Treaty don’t get passed if it doesn’t pass congress, with veto proof or not

Exactly. You don’t need to veto an illegal, unconstitutional act.

Republicans want the opportunity to cave to Obama and sell out Israel as well. But seriously, sure nice they can fight for Israel, but can’t fight for Americans.

SHUT UP and just do it. Stop advertising how close you are to success. That is not smart at all. I can see some of his own fellow republicans helping to sabotage this effort.

IOW, the Partisan Media Shills won't point out that this is bipartisan.

The dimoKKKRATS will see to it that the Senate gets no more than 66 votes.
To: Olog-hai
I know that Corker doesn’t know much about the Constitution, so someone should tell him that the Senate already has the power to ratify treaties. This vote that he is pushing for somehow diminishes the power that already exists.

I think you've got it. Beyond that, even if they did get a veto proof majority, Obama would just say it was unconstitutional and refuse to comply. What are they going to do; sue him? The Obama problem in the US is way beyond the usual legislative measures.

Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman, said Sunday on Fox News that the legislation that would force Preisdent Barack Obama to bring a deal on Irans nuclear program before the Senate is close to achieving the support of a veto-proof majority. You don't even need to do this. Obama's 'treaty' is not based on law.
Of course, Obama -- as lawless as he is -- will see this bill, veto it, be overridden, and proceed anyways.
DARING someone to stop him.

Yeah, I already thought the Constitution covered this.
