So what, just get behind the School Lunch program already, now call your congress critters and tell them how important this is and DEMAND that they immediately pass legislation mandating the SAME HEALTHY MEALS FOR all federal facilities, INCLUDING THE WHITE HUT and CONGRESS.

The Mooch ought to be forced to eat the crap she is foisting off on school kids. Every day.

"If I have to write a letter to Mrs. Obama, I will," said Sue Bahnick, who oversees food service in the Northern Lehigh School District. It amazes me that a local school district should think they have to clear anything with an unelected First Lady. Or for that matter, anyone at all in Washington DC.
Has Washington solved all of the problems it is responsible for, and now has to go out looking for things to solve at the local level? Do we need a federal commissar checking to see if you've mowed your grass? A federal czar to see if you choose paper or plastic?
Evidently Democrats aspire to be King of Everything. And they very nearly are.

Whole grain bread is much, much better.
Most other whole grain products, not so much.

The problem is, students have been pushing a lot of those healthy alternatives into the trash can, or opting out of school lunch altogether in favor of more palatable fare from home.Which they should have been doing all along.

Actually some of that brown spaghetti isn’t too bad with normal sauce and a little meat on it.

Our 14 year old granddaughter really likes the whole grains bread we have but not the yuckie brown bread that you get in restaurants and I’m assuming at school. She just skips lunch all together and rarely eats breakfast. Whole grain pasta is disgusting. Pasta, like ice cream, is meant to be junkie.

Two hundred thirty calories? The classrooms will have the students fading out in the middle of the afternoon! Forget about an energetic PhysEd program - the kids will be slogging along.

Another Liberal success story that is actually a disaster.
It was such a good idea — on paper.
