I tend to lean more toward making sure that only the truly needy get food stamps or any kind of welfare and that it has a sunset clause of say 5 years.
As far as what people buy with the food stamps I’m in favor of personal choices. Beer and cigarettes no but if you want to make a poor choice and blow all your money at the first of the month on steak and lobster and eat beans and rice the rest of the month that’s your business. You cannot micro manage everyone and in a free society you should not try.
Do realize their buying steak and lobster on other peoples dime drives the price up so that the people that pay their own way can’t afford it?
