Yep. That’s the problem with socialism, it strips people of any sense of responsibility and self-direction. In the process of course they lose their freedom because the government promises to provide them security from cradle to grave, which they trade freedom for and end up with neither. More like sheeple being led to slaughter. Of course it didn’t help that the peoples reproductive rates in the West have been below replacement for decades, an implosion that isn’t letting up. Tragic.
