MESA COUNTY, Colo. Well Mesa County, it looks like Game of Thrones fever is sweeping through some members of our community.
The popular HBO show debuted the first episode from it's fifth season on Sunday night, and roughly 24 hours later sheriff's office deputies were looking at a scene straight out of Westeros.

“Surely you joust”.
:) LOL
I come across threads like this by chance a lot.
No kidding. Most SCA events are full garb and many are fighting events will armor. I have never had any interaction with law enforcement other than a mutual interest in the middle ages and asking how they can participate.
It’s just a flesh wound...
Cosplayer , they have conventions ,LOL
Exactly - I do bardic and minstrel, and it’s a blast both on and off the field!
That brings back some pleasant memories. There was once a time when prime time television was actually enjoyable.
I agree!
I think the fact that he was wielding a sword and growling probably had more to do with it than how he was dressed.
heHeHe.
Think about this.
If that person had taken action to ensure they were safe by WALKING WITH THEM to their home, that person would probably have been arrested.
Additionally, what if that person had not called, and the children had been kidnapped ? How would that person deal with that ?
It's only free for illegal aliens.
And what if they hadn't bothered, and the children had been kidnapped and murdered ?
Don’t seem to be cold and brash but people get killed everyday. Do we cower in our home and not go out because we might have an accident? Or not let kids go swimming because they might drown? Or walk in the woods because they might get bitten by a snake?Kids need to be kids and enjoy childhood and experience independence and make decisions on their own. And yes, some kids do die and never get a chance to grow up. That does not mean we have to raise them in a prison like atmosphere.
What’s wrong with being dressed as a knight? I know lots of people with knight cloths. I also know lots of people in the SCA. And ren faire participants. And a few other brands of recreational recreationists some of which don’t involve chainmail.
How did they deal with it in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 90s? All of which actually had a higher percentage of child abductions that we have now. Child abduction is on the long list of things that our fear of is greatly disproportional to the actual incident rate.
Someone who doesn’t understand irony. It’s okay for a man to believe there’s a woman in him and to dress like a woman; for for a man to think there’s a knight inside and dress accordingly, it’s time to call the jimmylegs.

Wow. just... wow.
Oh, I agree.
The problem is for those who see these children out and about. I think it is insane to BLAME those adults who called the police. They are in a 'hell if you do, hell if you don't situation'.
