Nootropic Brain Drugs Rise in Popularity for Today’s Cutthroat Corporate Climbers
The Observer ^ | 04/15/2015 | Jack Smith IV

Posted on 04/15/2015 12:21:25 PM PDT by Kid Shelleen

Andrew started his college graduation day at 6 a.m. with a wakefulness agent called modafinil, sometimes known as Provigil—it was the first time he remembers nootropic brain drugs having such a startling effect. He was juggling family and celebrations along with two ceremonies, engineering in the morning and economics in the afternoon, with a band competition in between, which he won. For 22 waking hours he was happy, alert, firing on all cylinders, oblivious to any fatigue.

“At that point, it was like, ‘Holy crap, this stuff can be very powerful,’ ” Andrew told the Observer.

Now that he’s a corporate strategist working with health care companies on their mergers, Andrew, who requested we use a pseudonym, will sometimes call upon some chemical assistance for business trips requiring long flights, client meetings, back-to-back dinners and work hours back at the hotel. He doesn’t want a pedal-to-the-metal amphetamine: He wants focus, creativity and clarity without the side effects or dependencies.

Shrinks are one reason why this country is going down. They took homosexuality off the mental illness meaning they now tell homosexuals they are great.
they tell over the out of mainstream kids they are normal.
In some cases they tell kids to do what they want and express themselves instead of listening to parents.

It’s the shrinks which need help in many cases.

This will give my age away but back when I was in college (that later became Iowa State University) you could buy "bennies" (Benzedrine) over the counter. Later came meth, etc. and various stronger incarnations that led to their becoming illegal.

Never tried any as I was seeing what it had done to others and wanted no part of it.

I’ve been on midnights for 19 1/2 years. But then again I’m wired different. I was on midnights for the majority of my college years too, took all the 0800 to 1200 classes the rest of the student body didn’t want to get up early for. Slept during the afternoon. I had the types of jobs that you could study on, as long as the work was getting done.

Nothing compared to these drugs I’ve been taking, since I got on them, my productivity has skyrocketed. Normally I wouldn’t recommend taking drugs, but you try these if you can get them.

They’re called, “Placebos.’

L-theanine is in common use. For instance it is stacked with sleep aids such as melatonin. It is used in calming aids for cats dogs and horses. When the arrival of a stray kitten on my doorstep upset my senior citizen cat, turning my once peaceful animal kingdom into a running cat fight I went looking for ways to calm the clowder until adjustments could be made. The principal calming agent in the “calming chews” is L-theanine. I bought my own little bag from an American manufacturer And now I dose the clowder at a reasonable cost. Peace reigns again and I am stepping down dosage. Don’t know about humans but it really works for cats.
