I am not a big fan of this pope, but please stop with the infallibility misrepresentation:

What infallibility means

First of all, let’s start with the purpose of infallibility:

“It is this Magisterium’s task to preserve God’s people from deviations and defections and to guarantee them the objective possibility of professing the true faith without error.... To fulfill this service, Christ endowed the Church’s shepherds with the charism of infallibility in matters of faith and morals.” (Catechism, 890)
Infallibility is a gift of Christ and the Holy Spirit that gives us clarity and certainty about the faith itself and morality.

Infallibility just means that certain teachings of the Catholic Church are guaranteed to be without error. That’s not to say that they are the full and final word on the topic: later teachings may deepen and further clarify aspects of the original teaching.

Exactly what teachings?

The charism of infallibility is fully engaged only in definitive Magisterial teachings on faith and morals. This can occur in either...

Ordinary teachings, or
Extraordinary teachings
The Magisterium is the teaching office of the Catholic Church. It is exercised by the Pope alone when he teaches officially, or by the whole “college” of bishops together with the Pope.

Most Magisterial teachings are ordinary. The Pope’s ordinary teachings are issued in the course his normal activity: his encyclicals and other documents, various addresses, etc.

As a child, a wise ol’ man taught this in a four-line limerick that could be sung to the tune of Old MacDonald Had a Farm.

Amazing how something so completely and utterly profound can be made easy enough for a child to understand and remember to this day.

Agreed taking pot shots at the current Argentine Socialist who now occupies the throne of St. Peter is like shooting fish in a barrel. The current pontiff simply provides way too much ammunition.

But I still disagree with the concept of Papal Infallibility. This dogma was introduced rather late in Church history, in the middle 1800s, incidentally by the same Pope who institutionalized the dogma that Mary herself was born of an Immaculate Conception.

The Church has been known to make errors from time to time, which is to be expected as it is a man made institution. If there is one thing that we can count on being infallible, it is the Holy Bible IMHO.

Would not consider this to be his line of expertise. Has bow-boy been freely giving lessons as to announcing and hosting major summits? And why this summit? Why not a summit on how ‘in-your-face’ the perverse group of perverts has become?

I HAVE looked it up. I think it is a crock of crap quite frankly. I have read a number of books on Church history. It isn’t necessary. It is like compulsory clerical celibacy. There is no biblical basis for it. It is a way for a centralized authority to exercise its power and control. That’s all it is. It’s making up things and exercising power and control and at the same trying squash any debate, discussion or dissent. Popes can be wrong from time to time. Even on theological matters. I don’t think we need to blindly follow everything that come out of the Vatican. For what it’s worth, I’m also a lifelong Republican. I always vote the GOP ticket. But that doesn’t mean I blindly march in lockstep with every whim, pronouncement, or policy of the GOP leadership. I reserve the right to think for myself in all matters, political, religious, or otherwise.

Catholics are still obligated to submit will and intellect.

That’s like Bill Nye holding a conference on theology.

That’s like Bill Nye holding a conference on theology.

And yet, that's pretty much what Nye does when he debates Ken Ham.

I pray every day for the Pope.

The NEXT Pope.

Specifically, that we will have him soon.

These were long-held beliefs and tradition passed down in the Church for centuries. The Pope - with the Bishops - just declared it “legit”. Without the direction from the Pope and bishops the flock are left to their own interpretations and the faith would have been lost long ago.
