I have heard pilots refer to the "fuel tank explosion" as a sardonic joke.
You beat me to it. I posted the same exact thing.
As a Myth Buster watcher, I am amazed at the perfect conditions needed to explode gas inside a close area. There has to be the right Oxygen levels, circulation and even obstructions (better mix the Oxygen and Gas). I am sure jet fuel different than propane or natural gas, but did the NTSB ever replicate the conditions need to explode the tanks?
