Obama’s AG pick won’t commit to federal probe of Hillary Clinton email scandal

President Obama’s long-stalled nominee for attorney general, Loretta Lynch, has refused to commit to investigating former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s email secrecy scandal if confirmed as America’s top cop.

Responding to a question submitted by Sen. David Vitter, Louisiana Republican, Mrs. Lynch said in a letter Thursday that she didn’t have enough information to form an opinion about investigating Mrs. Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email account to conduct official business at the State Department.

“In my current role as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, my awareness of this issue has been limited to media reports and therefore, I do not have enough information at this time to determine whether action by the Department of Justice is warranted,” wrote Mrs. Lynch.

Mrs. Clinton, who entered the 2016 presidential race this week as the undisputed frontrunner for he Democratic nomination, may have violated federal open-records laws by using private email hosted by a server in her home, which she wiped clean of all but select emails amid the scandal.

Bad enough, but not unexpected. What’s unexpected — and disappointing — is Trey Gowdy bowing out as well.

Sen. David Vitter, Louisiana Republican”

We don’t have the courage to do our own investigation, even though we have the absolute authority to subpoena anything and anyone we want and JAIL anyone we want for refusing to cooperate. So will you please do OUR JOB FOR US!!

Worse than Holder. Holder has the ‘pigment protection’ shield. Lynch has that PLUS the ‘p___y protection’ shield. Her refusal to pursue Hillary’s email scandal SHOULD BE A NO GO ON CONFIRMATION.

I’m sorry, but didn’t we know from the beginning the limits of a congressional investigative committee. Before Gowdy became a heart throb he was laying out both the purpose and the limitations of a special committee.

He said on numerous televised occasions that it would take enforcement by the Justice Department to act on any committee demands for retrieving evidence. Unless the entire body of the House of Representatives voted to retrieve the server, the Committee was left with no enforcement mechanism.

If that is all BS, then there should be precedent for proving Gowdy wrong. He is pretty smart though, so I imagine he knows what he’s talking about.

Besides, his committee is charged to investigate Benghazi and is interested in that server only so far as it maybe contained email info related to Benghazi. The keyword is “maybe”.

Knowing the private server even existed, was used for government emails and then erased and kept private is more than enough.

Especially on FR, Gowdy is a victim of his cheerleaders. He is a crafty prosecutor, we were told, building a case step by step with aces up his sleeve. The romance of a dragon-layer was easy to fall into. In fact, he had limited committee powers and the Dems on the committee made sure no one would be surprised.

Gowdy wants to play ball with Boehner instead of going public with alarm and pointing out the case needs an actual prosecutor.

Too late now. Hillary’s running so any real investigation will look like a mere political stunt.
