Churches dont need irs tax exemption letters to be tax exempt. Churches predate the federal government and most state governments. Those very same churches had pastors give sermons and then take of their frocks and underneath were wearing their military uniforms, with swords and srms, asking for volunteers from the congregation.

if churches are stripped of non profit status, let’s eliminate the concept of non profit. Tax Planned Parenthood, the Clinton Foundation, the Ford Foundation. Tax Acorn, the ACLU, labor unions, the NAACP, the Sierra Club. Tax the income from Harvard University’s $30+ billion dollar endowment. Tax Jessie Jackson’s Rainbow Cooalition organization. Lots of liberal money just waiting to be plucked.
