Gun Rights on the Chopping-Block as Early as Next Week
Gun Owners of America/gunowners.org ^ | Thursday, 16 April 2015 | Gun Owners of America

Gun Owners of America spearheaded a coalition of almost 30 groups this week and sent a letter to U.S. Senators opposing the confirmation of Loretta Lynch to be Attorney General of the United States.

The vote on her nomination could occur as early as next week. And right now, the Republican Senate holds “all the cards” in the fight to stop her nomination. If they hold together, her nomination will be defeated.

While Lynch doesn’t have 60 votes in the Senate, she probably has 51 votes because there are some Republicans who support her -- like Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Mark Kirk (R-IL), Susan Collins (R-ME), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT).

Still others say that Lynch's confirmation is necessary to get rid of Holder. But Lynch represents a much greater danger than Holder -- especially, if her confirmation puts her in line as the potential fifth anti-gun vote on the Supreme Court.

I want to thank everyone who voted for Hatch and Graham.

Dude. They screw the American people out of guns, they never ever leave their cushy jobs, EVER AGAIN. They get to live the high life, forever and ever. Their families will suck on their bank accounts and be royalty. You think they would not screw us over? Give me a break. Most of them got there by selling out anyways, lobbying big corporations that started in America but have “Relocated” to the Bahamas, or some shithole so they can pay their employees next to nothing, hire non-Americans for penny’s on the hour, and make a killing selling to Americans doing it.

I hope you mean January 2017. When hopefully Senator Cruz is about to be sworn-in as President Cruz.

Keep the evil we know...Holder...rather than taking a chance on the evil that could be even worse.

But...stupid people abound, even in the Senate. Maybe especially in the Senate. They’ve been seduced by their illusion of “power” as someone said up-thread.

Don’t let our guns rights be endangered due to an ignorant Lynch mob!

That’s a BIG difference with what typically goes on in places like China and Soviet Russia.

You confuse places with ideologies -Leftism is the problem. The IRS targeting was but one tip of the Leftist iceberg in America.

Oh I don’t need no Weatherman to see which way the ideological wind blows.

But the fact remains that nobody I’m aware of, who attended 912, was arrested and indefinitely imprisoned like happens in China when some blogger speaks without approval.

Once again, states get ready to do what you not only have a right to do, but you have a duty to do: reject and nullify unconstitutional federal acts. Unconstitutional federal acts are acts of tyranny.

Oh no. We can’t nullify anything. We have wait for 32 states to agree to have a convention to make a new amendment (a 10 year process) when a judge nullifies it or.....

Well, I didn’t know it had to take that long but an Article V Convention of States does contemplate a lot of steps and issues.

Although I am in favor of the COC proposed by the Citizens for Self Governance, I argue that it and state nullification are not mutually exclusive and can and should be done in parallel. And the point that you infer is an important one: state nullification can and should begin NOW.

Levin said “this is a ten year process.”
