Ted Cruz: 'My Vote on Loretta Lynch is Unambiguously No'

exas Sen. Ted Cruz said Saturday that he would not support Loretta Lynch for attorney general and that the only "way to defeat ISIS is a simple and clear military objective.

"We will destroy them," Cruz said of the Islamic State to cheers at the Republican Leadership Summit in Nashua, N.H.

[snip]

"We need a commander-in chief who says the objective is not to weaken, not to degrade ISIS," Cruz said in answering a summit participant's question. "It is to utterly and completely destroy ISIS.

[snip]

Any decision on whether to use American combat troops should be "driven by the military necessities of accomplishing the goal of destroying ISIS," he said, and any U.S. involvement in any military conflict "should begin with a congressional authorization or a declaration of war."

Regarding Lynch, the senator said to applause: "My vote on Loretta Lynch is going to be unambiguously no. Unequivocal."

[snip]

He said that when he asked Lynch whether she would support Obama's amnesty orders, "she said absolutely yes.

"I asked if there were any limits to this executive amnesty," Cruz added, and the nominee "refused to answer this question. She refused to acknowledge any limits on the president's authority.

"In my view, when you have an attorney general nominee who looks at the United States Senate and says he or she will not enforce any constitutional limits whatsoever on the power of the president, there is no way in good conscience … to vote to confirm such a nominee."

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

This is great and I love Cruz because of who he is and what he stands for. But shouldn’t this be the obvious and common response to a woman who believes in civil forfeiture, taking guns away, and giving illegals every opportunity I the world. Is this what it has come to?

This man is the only one who can get the country back on track and do away with some of the idiotic policies this country has seen over the last few years

lol. That reminds 10 years ago when I was 37 and in my new 350z. The undercovers swooped down on me. And they asked me why I was speeding. I said because you two looked like crazy young kids chasing me and wanting to fight me! lol. They let me go and said enjoy the car.

I fear that its too late.

Just yesterday Justin Amash announced that he is old enough to run for president. Yesterday was his 35th birthday.

B.tch lol. That was hysterical. I’m still staggered like anyone is when their hero stabs them in the back, i.e., Rudy approving of her appointment. I think he is bipolar One day he crushes crime the next day he moves In with two gay guys, one day he closes the strip joints (that hurt lol) the next day he has an affair, one day he bans Arafat from attending an event the next day he dresses in drag. I don’t get it.

Last I heard Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) had all publicly committed to vote for Lynch. If all the senators vote, that makes the count 50-50 with VP Biden then casting the confirming tie-breaker. All we can hope is that conservatives in those four states make life so unbearable for those miserable backstabbers that one of them backpedals.
