I saw that, and that it was likely pesticide poisoning. Thanks for the ping!
Fungal contamination of grain? Doesn’t sound like typical Ergot symptoms though. Botulism is a closer match. Spoiled fish also similar symptoms.
You’re right; there is no intent by either party to stop it; the Repubs will delay it a little longer, but we’ll end up with the same result.
Thanks. It sure makes you scratch your head.
What the hell is driving this?
The 1% forcing the 99% to accept a much lower standard of living (without any chance of upward mobility).
My view of Capitalism is one that subscribes to the theory that the wealthier the middle or bottom classes are, the wealthier the 1% will be.
The more businesses the middle class run, the more infrastructure has to be built, and the 1% class reaps massive profits off that.
You hollow out the middle-class, and what really happens to the 1%ers? Do they simply become more wealthy because everyone else has less?
There isn’t a finite amount of money. The more wealth there is, the more customers and commerce the 1% can tap into.
I just can’t buy into the idea the 1% want the middle class to be poor.
From my observations, it’s not the 1% who are cutting jobs. IMO, it’s the people below them that are driving this.
Perhaps I should clarify something. The top 1% of our nation begins at what income level? It might surprise you how low it is. It’s $507,000. If that’s your income, you are in the top 1%.
If you make $102,250 you’re in the top 82%
It’s my premise that the 17% in this group, from 82% up to 99% are the ones who cut most of the middle class jobs.
I don’t believe the 1% control those figures. They may make investments and decisions that influence others to be more cut-throat, but they aren’t the ones cutting those jobs, pushing for more H-1bs and the like. They aren’t forcing outsourcing. They aren’t hiring illegals.
They don’t waste their time on those types of mundane day to day decisions.
Our 1% is fine with growing the middle class - of Asia. That is exactly what is happening. The people earning low- to mid-level salaries don’t want open borders; it destroys their livelihoods and their neighborhoods. The 1% want them as a docile population of serfs, even dictating where they are re-located.
I’ve known folks who owned smaller businesses, and they were thrilled to tap the cheap labor in China, Asia et al. Heck, illegal immigrants also...
I still think it’s the 82 to 99%ers that are causing most of the havock.
Small businesses are the businesses that employ most Americans. Corporations employ them too, but not in the numbers the small business sector does.
If you know better than that, go ahead and say so. I don’t mind. That’s my perception.
I heard a report this afternoon on one of the foreign news channels saying the it was methanol poisoning caused by men drinking bad moonshine. If true, this should end quickly.
Always best to be safe rather than sorry. It could be something new.
