This is SOP for all CPS cases—an area of “law” with no statutory oversight or even limitations, and a carte blanch denial of Constitutional protections. If you haven’t been party to such a case, you have no idea of modern justice. You can be blacklisted, blackmailed and bankrupted on false accusations and there is no recourse and no accountability in most states.
Many law-and-order conservative are happy to build the gallows upon which they are their compatriots will hang.
