Indiana Governor Mike Pence is extending an executive order allowing a needle exchange program in southern Indianas Scott County.
So far, there have been 128 confirmed cases of HIV connected to Scott County and intravenous drug use.
Last month, Pence signed a 30 day order to suspend state law and allow the needle exchange program. With that order due to expire on April 24, the governor signed Monday a new order extending the exchange program into May. Pence says he got the recommendation to do so from the Indiana State Department of Health, the CDC, and Scott County health officials.
We have no higher priority than the health and safety of our citizens, said Pence said in a statement. Today, on the recommendations of the Indiana State Department of Health and in consultation with Scott County officials and the Centers for Disease Control, I used my authority as Governor to extend the public health emergency in Scott County for an additional thirty days. While weve made progress in identifying and treating those affected by this heartbreaking epidemic, the public health emergency continues and so must our efforts to fight it.
The governors office said the administration will continue to monitor the HIV outbreak to determine whether a further extension is necessary.

“So far, there have been 128 confirmed cases of HIV connected to Scott County and intravenous drug use.”
This is all connected to IV drug use...not anal sex...none of the new 128 confirmed cases of HIV are related to anal sex.
Sketchy!
...there is a little town off of I-65 called Austin...it’s a low income of poor white folks who live off of welfare and do drugs on a daily bases....very dirty...lack of education...and skills...I have to drive through it to get on I-65 to go to Indy....it’s needle sharing...and maybe some Deliverance...but mostly needle sharing...
So the guv wants AIDS to spread?
This is what happens when lack of education and cleanliness takes over....that area has no sense of self worth...but it is another fine example of why the govt should never allow welfare to be a Primary skill set where the consequence is a disease. ...much like Ebola in Western Africa...same issues...different infection....
